As of the first fortnight of January the Panamanians will pay more for Social Insurance. According to the Articule 101 of Law 51 of 27 of December 2005.

The employees  previously paid 7.25% , from the 1st of January of 2008 until December 2010 will pay 8%. The employee contribution for the thirteenth Month will remain 7.25%.

The Employers will pay 11.50% from the 1st of January 2008 until December 2010. The Employers contribution for the thirteenth Month will remain 10.75%.

According to article 91 of this Law, from the 1st of July 2008 the Social Security contribution will be pay based on the 55% of the Representation Expenses until the 30th of June 2010, previously was 25%.

The independent workers, according to article 91, from the 1st of January 2008 until December 2010, will pay 11% of the 52% of their annual fees.
